Letters from our fans
|
Hello! I just wanted to take a moment and tell you how much my girlfriend and I enjoyed the show. I'm what you would call a second generation 60's fan. I'm 44, born in 62, so I was about between 8 and 10 years old when I first heard Abbey road, and for some reason (who knows) really enjoyed the music from the 60's. The Stones, Who, Buffalo Springfield, The Moody Blues, Doors, and my favorite group The Beatles. After attending the concert, I have to get more info on the band , and I definitely have to get more of the Byrds music. I only have a greatest hits CD. But, even the songs we did not know last night we really like a lot! I hope it was worth the effort to play here. We have a classic rock station, the Fox 106.9, and an oldies station, 92.1. I bet with a little promotion you could have filled the house last night! I know you guys are busy as all get out so I better go before I take up too much of your time. I love talking and learning about the 60's music scene, so I could go on for awhile, so, thank you for the great concert, and thank you and all the guys in the band for coming out and speaking to everyone after the show.
Richard and Maria
It seems like only yesterday I was an 18 year old freshman at William and Mary going with my girlfriend to see some weird group perform. I think it was early December, 1965 and the Byrds were in concert at Adair Gym. The opening act was Sam The Sham and the Pharaohs and the gym was set up for dancing, not a sit down concert. When the Byrds come out with their capes and funky glasses I knew they were different. "Turn, Turn, Turn" may have been #1 or near the top the week they performed.
Well, 41 years have gone by, the girlfriend has been my wife for 37 years, college and grad school are long behind us, children have grown and left, and Karen and I found ourselves back in Williamsburg just like 41 years ago with a concert on the near horizon. Can't wait.
Welcome to Williamsburg.
Peace
Tim McPherson
